Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition

THANKS to the Fort Law Firm for providing office space and office support for the Coalition’s employees and student interns!

The Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition would like to welcome one new staff person and one new volunteer.

M. Mercedes Fort, attorney for Fort Law Firm, has been hired as the Drug Free Communities Project Director to replace Jim Maginel.

Stacy Taylor, Asset Coordinator for the Community Caring Council, has assumed the volunteer position of Coalition Chair for this coming year.  Stacy replaces Ellen Carlson, advertising executive for Mississippi River Radio who served as chairperson for 2011.

Both of these ladies bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Coalition.  Plans to continue the mission of the Coalition and to increase its presence and impact throughout Cape County are underway.

The next meeting of the Coalition will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10:30am at the Cape Public Library.  All interested persons are invited to attend.

For more information on the work of the Coalition, contact Shelly Wood at 587-1921 or check out the website at www.mychildourfuture.com.
