The Community Caring Council and United Way of Southeast Missouri launched
the Community Assessment Partnership in September 2001. Survey data
and focus group input was collected during 2002 and 2003. In January
2004, the Partnership selected the top four priority issues. Development
of a Community Plan for each of these four issues took place through
December 2004, with approval from the Partnership in January 2005.

Four Priority Issue Councils (PIC) have been established to oversee
implementation and recommend revisions to the goals, objectives and
strategies as set forth in each priority area. Within these 4 PICs,
several subcommittees have also been developed based on the focus areas
under each priority issue.
