The Community Caring Council chairs various committees within the community addressing issues such as Transportation, Access to Medical Care, Substance Abuse, and Family Issues. All committees are open to all interested community members. For more information contact Kay Azuma (651-3747 ext. 104).
Monthly Meetings
The Community Caring Council holds its monthly meeting every 3rd Friday of the month at 7:30 AM in the Kasten Community Development Center located at 937 Broadway, Suite 102, Cape Girardeau, MO. It is open to all interested community members.
Each month a guest speaker is invited to present to the group followed by reports from Committees, Task Forces & Community Partners. The Council also hosts an annual conference in the Spring.
Community Closet
The Council manages a closet to assist clients on a case by case basis in times of emergency with hygiene and household items. This closet is supported by donations only. Currently the closet supply is very low. If you would like to make a donation you may do so by contacting Jaime Ludwig (651-3747 ext. 107) or Kay Azuma (651-3747 ext. 104). Examples of items collected are: Diapers size (all sizes), Enfamil Lipil (formula), Enfamil Prosobee with Lipil (formula), Baby wipes, Baby shampoo, Lysol, Comet, Windex, Dish detergent, Toilet paper, Paper towels, Pads, Tampons, Soap, Laundry Detergent, Deodorant, Sponges, Toothpaste.
